A little bit about me…
Hi, I’m Jay Lafleur. I started this blog to give people honest, straightforward information about life on the Connecticut shoreline — the good, the not-so-good, and everything in between. Whether you’re thinking about moving here, already live here, or are trying to make sense of the buying or selling process in Connecticut, my goal is to share real insight, local knowledge, and practical tips that actually help.
I grew up in Old Saybrook and have spent my whole life along the shoreline, so this area is a big part of who I am. Today, I work as an advisor with William Pitt Sotheby’s, helping buyers, sellers, and relocators navigate the CT market with clarity and confidence. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about the communities here and what it really feels like to call this part of Connecticut home. This blog is my way of passing that along — from the pros and cons of different towns, to what to do on weekends, to what you should know before making a move.
Outside of real estate, I’m married to my wife Paige, and we have a Boston Terrier named Winston who keeps us laughing (and occasionally stressed). I’m a Dallas Cowboys fan, a big food person — whether it’s fine dining, a great local restaurant, or a good dive bar — and I love cooking at home just as much as trying something new.
If you ever have questions or want to talk about anything related to the shoreline or the CT housing market, I’m always happy to help.
